Soak the stone for about 20 minutes, or until the stone stops producing bubbles. And splash water on the stone as needed.

It is a finish stone after using a medium-fine stone (#2000, #3000, #4000, #5000, or #6000).

Suzuki-ya's 8,000 grit finish stone is a very impressive stone. It is a slightly over sized splash and go stone that incorporates very fast cutting action, really good feedback and ease of use, all in one great stone. This stone is very user friendly. Strong polishing force that leaves a beautifully polished edge and a mostly matte finish to the backing steel. Gets tools wicked sharp! Highly dish resistant and with no stiction. If I were to have only two stones it would be this 8,000 grit and Suzuki-ya's 1,000 grit stone. An unbeatable combination!
