Please note that the #4000 stone may come with "hairline cracks". These cracks are normal and will not effect the performance or quality of the stone.

Soak the stone for about 20 minutes, or until the stone stops producing bubbles. And splash water on the stone as needed.

*Ceramic/High pressure cast and 1300 degree celcius treated

It is a medium fine stone after using a medium grit (#1000, #1200, #1500 or #2000)

It has nice nutural stone feeling to it

It cuts faster, lasts longer and offers better result than other #4000 stones

I´d wish to share my thoughts about this product. Just the BEST WATERSTONE you can get on the market. it has got the properties I dream aboput in a sharpening stone, fast cutting , longlasting flattness, no clogging, a few minutes soaked in water and it´s ready to go but the most important matter about sharpening stones is their feel, this is something you get conscious with experience and that point is which make me love this stone. I feel how metal is cutting but when you look at the edge you find the best result possible, this is a uniform and smooth line prepared for the last step with the fine grit finishing stone (Awase-do). Other medium waterstones slip over the slurry created or don´t cut metal enough to pass on the next stone but Suzuki-ya stones are superb at this issue. One more thing, there´s no need for Nagura stone on this grit, that is wonderful, because the stone doesn´t lose its bite on the blade, you can keep on sharpenig for long time and until the surface of the stone get tto black or lose its flatness you don´t have to worry about dressing it up, for this I use a corse diamond stone, some little passes and the Suzuki-ya stone is on its best again. I cann´t still believe the price of the stone for such high quality. I do recommend this waterstones series with no reservations. I have to thank Sayuri-san for her good and helpful advises on my purchase, I am very happy with the deal.

Suzuki-ya's #4000 stone is one of the best stones I have ever used. Exceptionally nice feedback and quite smooth feeling in use. Leaves a very fine and uniform scratch pattern. Easy to use the whole stone. Very dish resistant and amazingly fast cutting!. I highly recommend this stone.

Suzuki-ya's #4000 stone is one of the best stones I have ever used. Exceptionally nice feedback and quite smooth feeling in use. Leaves a very fine and uniform scratch pattern. Easy to use the whole stone. Very dish resistant and amazingly fast cutting!. I highly recommend this stone.
