• I am very pleased with this kanna-ba. I ordered a 70mm,to pair with Inomoto San's 390mm Naga dai. You can tell Yamamoto san's skill in forging, by his clean lamination line between the Jigane(iron) and the hagane(hard steel,) even his osae ba(chip breaker) is made with this care. There is no hazyness and the line is pronounced, which means it was welded and forged with very low heat preventing too much carbon evaporation. In use, this kanna produces silky, dry cuts the way a pure carbon steel blade should, not stickiness... Inomoto sans Naga-dai was crafted very well and the white oak he used was well aged and tight grained. If you are using soft to the medium hard woods, meaning even the softest sap woods of cedar, to butternut, all the way up to a white oak this kanna will do its work very efficiently. One thing I must mention is the owner Suzuki san, she puts love into anything she sells you, and carries honesty. The love that is put into the selling of a tool is just as important as the love that the smith puts in to the forging of the tool. I highly reccomend Suzuki san as a tool dealer as well as this kanna...
