We can accommodate any bedding angles for a Hira-ganna / smoothing plane. If it's steeper than 40 degrees, an additional charge will be required. Please contact us for details.
The blade in the 1st picture is the Seiryu/Azure Dragon and the other in the 2nd picture is the Suzaku/Vermilion Bird.
Shijin is the Four Symbols (Chinese: 四象; pinyin: Sì Xiàng) and are four mythological creatures in the Chinese constellations. They are the Azure Dragon of the East, the Vermilion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, and the Black Turtle of the North. Each of them represents a direction and a season, and each has its own individual characteristics and origins.

June 17, 2021 by Roger Ritchey jrI've purchased two of these kanna/chip breaker. One for smoothing and the other i had put into an inomoto naga-dai for joinery. The showed up very promptly after arrival from Japan. I have to give the whole experience 5 stars.
