• This chisel is incredibly useful for cleaning out blind mortises. It is crucial for small mortises where it would be difficult to clean up the bottom without bruising the edges. The neck on this chisel is thicker than most others I have used and this gives it a stiffness which is very nice for working in a very controlled and deliberate fashion. The tool takes a good edge and cuts smoothly. I highly recommend it, especially for smaller, detail work.
