I was impressed with this plane, it is cutting very well. It was used on Tsugi, Hinoki, and Matsu in Japan which are much more difficult to plane clean than the woods we have here in America. I have Kensuke san's father's Swedish steel plane as well and after using this plane (his son's) here in America on both clean and knotty pines as well as other woods.
